Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) Entrance Exam will be merged with NEET-UG from 2013

The Medical Council has announced that they are merging the prestigious Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) Entrance Exam with NEET Exam from next Academic Year 2013. The Exam will be conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) from 2013 onwards, where the students will have to mark their preference for admission to AFMC. The MBBS course will begin in August and admissions will be done online.
Meanwhile, the academic committee meeting also discussed several issues including objective measurement and assessment methodology of efficiency in teaching and training. According to Kakria, (Director General, Armed Forces Medical Services) the medical research committee will examine 167 research proposals and award winning projects like anthropometric changes related to age in air crew, and compatibility in aircraft cockpit and others will be discussed.
Lt Gen H Kakaria, director general, Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMC), made the announcement stating clearly that AFMS was now a part of NEET-UG and NEET-PG examination system and would not be holding separate entrance test for admissions to AFMC.
